WHATS NEW IN THE LATEST AUTODESK RELEASE

How Vault 2026 can support your workflows

In this blog, our Principal Consultant Adam Murphy, explores the latest updates in Autodesk Vault Professional 2026. Building on past releases, this year’s version introduces new features aimed at enhancing user experience, streamlining design and administration workflows, and boosting overall productivity.

What's new in Vault

You may wish to be reducing the total size of your vault file store to speed up the migration process as you're upgrading your vault. Or your company may have data retention policies. Once projects are complete users may wish to archive those projects.

The Vault archive feature sets up a separate Vault archive file store. Users can move files to this file store from within the Vault client interface using the new Archive function.

Much like the Windows recycling bin.

If you must delete a file from Vault, when you delete that file, it will now appear in your trash bin.

In the trash bin users can right click on the file and select restore, select permanently delete. Users can right click on the trash bin itself and select Empty bin.

There's also an option where we can set the trash bin to automatically empty every 30 days.

If there is a long list of jobs in your Vault job queue, users can find a job, right click and set to top priority.

The job will now be the next job to run by a job processor, saving you the need to wait for the job queue to complete if you have an urgent job or a job that must be complete as soon as possible.

This allows administrators to set a time limit for vault access when enabling a user in Vault.

When editing a user profile, under the enable user option, we now have a setting for Disabled On.

And if we select the drop down, we get a calendar and we can set a date, to define when that user will no longer be able to access the vault.

So you can use this to control access for users and when that access will be disabled if you want to give temporary access to a user to your vault.

Users can enter a URL into a property in Vault and that can be used as a hyperlink by a user. Users may use this to link to a vendor website or you might use it to link to a separate system such as a PLM platform like Autodesk Fusion Manage or Sevilla Core, for instance.

Vault Data APIs improve Autodesk Vaults ability to integrate with other business platforms. Allowing you to extend your product workflow outside of the design office.
