BIM Capabilities & Compatibility
SketchUp Pro incorporates BIM functionality to enable users to participate in BIM projects and provide data from their models to partners, suppliers and contractors. The 'Classifier' Tool within SketchUp Pro uses the IFC classification library and allows users to apply IFC classifications to the components of their model. Component data with their IFC classifications can then be exported using the 'Generate Report' function.

In addition to IFC classification reports, SketchUp Pro also exports to the IFC 2x3 file format. This makes models widely readable in this industry-standard format and is ideal for sharing model information with users on other platforms.
